It was located near the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus. As of April 2024, Milio's has 19 locations. You can find them in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa. The main office for the company is in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.
How Milio's Sandwiches Started
Milio's began in 1989. It was a single sandwich shop on West Johnson Street. People really liked the sandwiches. Because of this, the company started opening more shops. They expanded around Madison.
In 2004, the company began to offer franchises. This means other people could open their own Milio's shops. At this time, the company also changed its name. It went from Big Mike's Super Subs to Milio's Sandwiches. Each Milio's store bakes fresh bread. They do this every four hours, every day.
New Owners and Community Help
In October 2020, a group of close friends became the owners of Milio's Sandwiches. These owners were Brian Bergen, Timm Heller, Todd Mancusi, Tony Mancusi, and Chris Gentilli.
Milio's Sandwiches is also known for helping its community. In 2021, they started a special program. This program gives back to local non-profit groups. They have received awards for their sandwiches. Madison Magazine gave them silver and bronze medals. These were for Best Sandwich Spot.
