Moroleón is a city in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. It is the main city of the Moroleón municipality. The city is close to Yuriria, Morelia, and Uriangato. Together with Uriangato, it forms a larger urban area.
Moroleón is famous for its clothing stores. You can find many shops selling clothes along its streets. It is one of Mexico's most important cities for making clothes. The city also has two yearly festivals. One is on January 16th, celebrating the history of the Catholic Church in Mexico. The other is on September 16th, celebrating Mexico's independence.

History of Moroleón
Early Settlements
In 1604, a woman named Dona Juana María de Medina y Calderón received land. This land was in an area called Yuririapúndaro. A Spanish leader, Don Gaspar de Zúñiga y Acevedo, gave her the land.
Later, around 1775, Don Jose Guzman Lopez started settling the land. Other important families also moved there.
Becoming a Municipality and City
The area of Yuririapúndaro officially became the municipality of Moroleón in 1845. This happened by a special order from the governor of Guanajuato. Moroleón was one of 46 new municipalities created at that time.
In 1929, Moroleón was officially recognized as a city. This was also by a special order from the state governor, Agustín Arroyo Ch.
