N'Bushe Wright (pronounced ən-BOO-shay) is an American actress and dancer. She is best known for playing Dr. Karen Jenson in the 1998 superhero movie Blade.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Wright grew up in a creative family. Her father, Stanley Wright, was a jazz musician. Her mother worked as a psychologist for the New York City school system. Wright discovered her passion for performing at a young age.

Wright trained to be a dancer at famous schools like the Alvin Ailey Dance Center and the Martha Graham School of Dance. She also studied acting at Stella Adler's Studio.
Within a year of starting her acting studies, she landed a main role in the 1992 movie Zebrahead. This was the beginning of her successful career in film and television.

After her debut in Zebrahead, Wright took on several important roles. In 1994, she appeared in the movie Fresh, where she played a character facing difficult challenges. The next year, she played an idealistic member of the Black Panther Party in the film Dead Presidents (1995).
Her most famous role came in 1998 when she starred as Dr. Karen Jenson in the action-horror film Blade. She played a scientist who helps the main character fight vampires.
Television Appearances
Wright also had a strong career in television. In 1992, she had a recurring role as Claudia in the TV drama I'll Fly Away. Her character was a civil rights activist fighting for better education.
