Núria Vilaplana i Buixons (1931 – 25 December 2016) was a talented Spanish artist, writer, and journalist. She was better known by her pen name, Núria Pompeia. She created many cartoons and wrote stories in both Catalan and Castilian languages.

Núria grew up in Barcelona, Spain. She studied art at a special school called Escola Massana. In 1969, her first cartoons were published in a magazine called Oriflama. Her drawings often used humor to talk about important social topics. She would show how different social groups lived or criticize unfairness, like sexism. She also used her cartoons to playfully show how people sometimes couldn't express their true thoughts freely. Besides her cartoons, Núria Pompeia wrote novels and short stories. She also worked as a journalist. She passed away in Barcelona in 2016 when she was 85 years old.
