What the Movie is About
The story of Nocturna follows a young boy named Tim. He lives in an old orphanage. Tim is very afraid of the dark. He finds comfort in the light from the stars at night.
Tim's Adventure Begins
One day, the other kids get upset with Tim. He won't get a ball that fell into the dark basement. Later, they play a trick on him. They take the doorknob to his window. This forces Tim to go to the rooftop to see his favorite star.
When Tim gets to the roof, he sees his star. But then, it suddenly vanishes! More stars start disappearing too. This makes Tim very worried.
Meeting the Night Creatures
Tim then meets a special character called the Cat Shepherd. The Shepherd has a loyal cat named Tobermory. The Cat Shepherd's job is to help children sleep peacefully. But Tim doesn't want to sleep. He wants his star back more than anything. He is determined to make it shine again.
Tim convinces the Cat Shepherd to take him to Moka. Moka is the guardian of the night in the Night World. Tim asks Moka to bring the stars back. But Moka doesn't pay much attention to his pleas.
The Lighthouse of the Stars
So, Tim asks the Cat Shepherd to take him to the Lighthouse of the Stars. Tim believes he can find answers there. He thinks it will explain why the stars are disappearing.
Tim, the Shepherd, and Tobermory race through the city of Nocturna. This is a magical world. Hundreds of different creatures work there to create the night we know. As they travel, they discover something strange is happening.
Facing the Darkness
An evil threat called "The Darkness" is putting the night in danger. It also threatens all the creatures living in Nocturna. In the end, Tim learns a surprising truth. The Darkness was created by his own fear of the dark!
Tim bravely tricks The Darkness into coming close to him. He then manages to overcome his fear. By doing this, he defeats The Darkness and saves the world of Nocturna. The next day, Tim surprises his friends. He finally goes into the dark basement and gets their ball back. Impressed, his friends decide to play with him again.
