Ogooué-Lolo is a special area, like a big region, in the country of Gabon. It's called a province. The main city, or capital, of Ogooué-Lolo is Koulamoutou.

About Ogooué-Lolo Province

Ogooué-Lolo is one of Gabon's nine provinces. It is located in the central part of the country. The province gets its name from two important rivers: the Ogooué River and the Lolo River.

This province covers a large area of about 25,380 square kilometers. That's roughly the size of a small country! In 2013, about 65,771 people lived here. This makes it one of the less populated provinces in Gabon.

The Capital City: Koulamoutou

Koulamoutou is the capital of Ogooué-Lolo. It is the biggest town in the province. This city is important for the government and for people living in the area. It serves as a center for trade and local activities.

How Ogooué-Lolo is Divided

Like many large regions, Ogooué-Lolo is split into smaller parts. These smaller parts are called departments. Each department has its own main town. This helps manage the different areas within the province.

There are four departments in Ogooué-Lolo:

  • Lolo-Bouenguidi Department: Its main town is Koulamoutou, which is also the provincial capital.
  • Lombo-Bouenguidi Department: The main town here is Pana.
  • Mouloundou Department: This department's main town is Lastoursville.
  • Offoué-Onoye Department: The main town for this department is Iboundji.
