Pico del Águila (which means Beak of the Eagle in English) is a unique mountain in Spain. It's known as a "tabular mountain" because it has a flat top, almost like a table, with steep sides. This mountain sits on the edge of the Alcarria region, which is a high, flat plain in Spain.

What is Pico del Águila?

Pico del Águila is a mountain that stands out because of its shape. Imagine a giant table rising from the ground – that's what a tabular mountain looks like! It's part of the Alcarria area, which is a large plateau. A plateau is a wide, flat area of land that is higher than the land around it.

Location and Features

This interesting mountain is found in the Spanish province of Guadalajara. One of its most striking features is its northern side, which drops very steeply for about 200 meters. That's like falling from a 65-story building! This makes it look very impressive from below.

Getting to the Mountain

Even though it has steep sides, you can still reach Pico del Águila. There are dirt tracks that lead to the mountain from its east, north, and west sides. These tracks are often used by hikers and people who want to explore the area and enjoy the views from the top.
