Ricky O'Loughlin, born on July 4, 1979, is a former Australian rules football player. He is an Indigenous Australian who played for the Adelaide Crows in the top-level Australian Football League (AFL).
Ricky O'Loughlin's Football Journey
Ricky started playing senior football in 1999. He played for the Port Adelaide Magpies in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). The Adelaide Crows then chose him in the 1999 AFL draft. He was pick number 51.
Playing in the AFL
Ricky played as a half-forward. His first AFL game was at the Gabba stadium in 2000. He played alongside other new players like Jonathan Brown. During his two seasons in the AFL, Ricky played nine games. He spent most of his time playing in the SANFL.
Family Connection
In 2002, Ricky was listed as a rookie player for the Sydney Swans. This was the same club where his brother, Michael O'Loughlin, played. However, Ricky did not get to play any senior games for the Swans.
