Síle Seoige (born April 13, 1979) is an Irish television presenter. Some people also call her Sheila. She is well-known for her work on Irish TV and radio.

Early Life and First Steps in TV

Síle Seoige was born in An Spidéal, a town in County Galway, Ireland. She was the youngest of four children. She went to Scoil Mhuire for primary school and Coláiste Chroí Mhuire for secondary school.

After finishing her final exams (called the Leaving Certificate), she got a job with TG4 (then called TnaG). She hosted a movie show called Hollywood Anocht. Síle became known to the public after her sister, Gráinne, moved to another TV channel. On Hollywood Anocht, Síle interviewed famous actors like Bruce Willis and Meryl Streep.

After Hollywood Anocht finished, Síle became the weather presenter and continuity announcer for TG4. After two years, she moved on to host a children's programme called Cúla4.

Taking a Break and Trying Radio

After two years of hosting Cúla4, Síle decided to take a year off. She spent that time traveling and exploring. When she returned to Ireland, she wanted to try working in radio.

She first worked for Beat 101–102, a radio station in the south-east of Ireland. Later, she moved to a national station called Today FM. In the summer of 2004, Síle got a job covering Ireland's summer festivals for RTÉ's show Nationwide.

Hosting Shows in Two Languages

Síle Seoige became a regular host on the bilingual programme Seachtain. This meant she presented in both English and Irish. She also produced a four-part series for RTÉ called Coiscéim. She even appeared on a music CD called SnaG-05 with a band called The Devilins. This CD featured Irish bands singing in the Irish language.

Charity Work and Live Events

In the summer of 2005, Síle took part in the first You're a Star series. This was a TV show where celebrities competed to raise money for charity. Síle raised over forty thousand euro for Cope, a charity based in Galway. The next month, she helped present the fourth season of the show.

She also co-presented the live TV coverage of the St. Patrick's Day Parade for three years. Later, she presented a bilingual current affairs programme on RTÉ One called Pobal. This show discussed important news topics in both English and Irish.

More TV Roles

Síle has been a guest presenter on the travel show No Frontiers. She also co-presented the first season of RTÉ's entertainment series Class Act with Aidan Power. In 2007, she was a guest presenter on RTÉ's daytime programme The Afternoon Show.

She presented season five of TG4's popular fashion show Paisean Faisean. In October 2008, Síle joined her older sister Gráinne as a co-presenter of Seoige on RTÉ One. After one season, the show ended. In September 2009, she started as a co-presenter on RTÉ's The Afternoon Show again.

She has also worked for Newstalk radio. In 2023, Síle Seoige started her own podcast.
