About Sierra Martés

Where is this mountain range?

Sierra Martés has borders with other areas. To the south, it meets Mola d'Albeitar and Venta Gaeta. Both of these are small villages near Cortes de Pallás. To the east, it stretches along Sierra del Ave, Dos Aguas, and Caballón.

On its north side, you will find the Forata's Reservoir. To the west, the mountains become lower. They eventually reach the Requena's Altiplano, which is a flatter area compared to Forata.

What makes it special?

The Sierra Martés is a protected natural area. The Valencian Government Environmental Council (Conselleria de Medio Ambiente de la Generalitat Valènciana) looks after it. This protection helps keep the area safe. It is a nature reserve with many different kinds of plants. This means it is an important place for nature and wildlife.
