Soap&Skin is the stage name for Anja Plaschg, a talented artist from Austria. Born on April 5, 1990, she creates a unique kind of music. Anja's Early Life and Music
Anja Plaschg grew up in a small village called Poppendorf in Austria. Her parents had a farm there. She started playing the piano when she was six years old. When she was 14, she began learning the violin. Around this time, she also became very interested in electronic music.
Moving to Vienna and Early Career
Anja went to a school for graphic design in Graz, but she left when she was 16. Soon after, she moved to Vienna, the capital city of Austria. There, she studied art at a special academy. However, she left that school too when she was 18.
Even after playing only a few concerts, people started calling her a "Wunderkind." This German word means a child who is amazingly talented. In 2008, Anja played the role of a German singer named Nico in a play. She performed several songs in the play, showing her musical skills.

Anja's first album was called Lovetune for Vacuum. It came out in March 2009. The album received great reviews from music critics. It even made it into the top 10 albums in Austria. Her music also became popular in Germany, Belgium, and France. Many music journalists saw her as a rising star in Austrian music.

A difficult time in Anja's life influenced her second album, Narrow. She used her feelings and experiences to create powerful new songs.

Anja's songs have been used in several movies and TV shows. Her tracks "Brother of Sleep" and "Marche Funèbre" were part of the movie War Games: At the End of the Day in 2010. Her song "Wonder" was used in a Belgian drama film called All of Us.
In 2011, she created the song "Goodbye" with another musician named Apparat. This song was featured in the final episode of the popular TV show Breaking Bad. Later, it became the main theme song for the German Netflix series Dark.
Her songs "Italy" and "Safe with Me" were used in the Italian film Sicilian Ghost Story (2017). The track "Italy" was also featured in the 2022 film Corsage.
Recent Projects
