Solange d'Herbez de la Tour was born in Bucharest, Romania. After finishing school, she studied architecture at the University of Bucharest. She also learned about urban planning at the Polytechnical School of Bucharest. Urban planning is about designing how cities and towns are built.
Later, Solange moved to Paris. There, she started her own architecture company. She designed a huge number of buildings! She created over 5,000 apartment homes. She also designed public buildings, cultural centers, and sports places. Solange designed day nurseries for young children, hospitals, and elementary schools. She even helped plan brand new towns.
