Spiros Focás (Greek: Σπύρος Φωκάς; born Spyridon Androutsopoulos) was a well-known Greek actor. He was born on August 17, 1937, in Patras, Greece. Spiros Focás became famous for his many roles in movies, both in Greece and around the world. He acted in films for over 60 years, from 1959 until 2019. He passed away on November 10, 2023, at the age of 86.

Life and Acting Career

Spiros Focás started his acting journey in 1959. His very first movie was called Bloody Twilight. This film was shown at a big event called the 1959 Cannes Film Festival. This was a huge step for him and helped him start his acting career on the world stage.

After his first film, Spiros Focás decided to go to Italy. He went to the famous Cinecittà studios in Rome. There, he found many chances to act in international movies. He worked on big films like A Matter of Time and Rocco and His Brothers. In Rocco and His Brothers, he even acted alongside the famous Greek actress Katina Paxinou.

Throughout his career, Spiros Focás acted in more than 30 movies. Many of these films were made in Italy and the United States. He became very popular and loved by audiences. He also appeared in many well-known theaters outside of Greece. Back home, he was a familiar face on Greek television, starring in several drama series.

Later Life and Passing

Spiros Focás was married four times during his life. He did not have any biological children of his own. However, he was a stepfather to the daughter of his fourth wife, Lillian. They had been married since 2013.

Spiros Focás died on November 10, 2023. He was 86 years old. He had been receiving care at a special center in Eleusis, Greece, since the summer before he passed away.
