A Look Back at St Nicholas' Church
Building the Church
The church was designed by an architect named James Miller. It was built in the 1930s using bricks. Inside, it has strong pillars and rounded arches. The church was finished in 1937 and officially opened on November 25, 1937.
Growing Together
When the church first opened, not many people were members. But over time, more and more people joined. By 1947, there were over 1,000 members. By 1962, this number had grown to almost 2,000!
In 2015, something special happened. Two church groups, Penilee St Andrew and St Nicholas', decided to join together. They formed one big group called St Andrew and St Nicholas. Both church buildings are still used today.
