Stanisław Sylwester Bareja (born December 5, 1929 – died June 14, 1987) was a famous Polish filmmaker. He was known for making many funny movies, mostly comedies. These films became very popular and are still loved by many people in Poland today.

One of his most famous movies is Teddy Bear (called Miś in Polish), which was made in 1980. His last big project was a TV series called Zmiennicy. It was finished in 1986 and shown on TV in 1987.

Stanisław Bareja was honored for his work even after he passed away. In 2006, he received a special award called the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. This award was given by the President of Poland, Lech Kaczynski. Also, in 2005, a street in Warsaw was named after him to remember his contributions.
