Stark's Vacuum Museum, also known as Stark's Vacuum Cleaner Museum, is a really cool place in Portland, Oregon. It's a museum dedicated to vacuum cleaners! You can find it inside the Stark's Vacuums store.
Discovering Old Vacuums
This museum is home to more than 100 different vacuum cleaners. These aren't just any vacuums; they are from a long time ago, starting from the late 1800s all the way up to the 1960s. It's like taking a trip back in time to see how people used to clean their homes!
What You Can See
The museum has many unique and interesting vacuum cleaners. For example, you can see a vacuum from the 1930s that was actually made out of cardboard! There's also a special vacuum called a Duntley Pneumatic that was designed to attach to the ceiling. Imagine a vacuum hanging from above!
You can also find an old Electrolux vacuum that moves around on special runners, not wheels. And for a real blast from the past, there are hand-pumped vacuums that people had to operate themselves. The museum area is about 10 feet by 40 feet (which is about 3 meters by 12 meters) inside the store. The best part is, it's completely free to visit!
