Takéo is a province in Cambodia. It is located in the southern part of the country. Takéo borders Vietnam to the south. Its name means 'Crystal Grandfather'. The capital city of Takéo province is Doun Kaev. This city has about 39,000 people living there.

Many people call Takéo the "cradle of Khmer civilization." This is because ancient kingdoms like Funan and Water Chenla were once centered here. These kingdoms were very important in the history of Cambodia.
