Anastasio Aquino and the Declaration
On February 16, 1833, a brave leader named Anastasio Aquino became very important in Tepetitán. He was a leader of the indigenous people, who were the original inhabitants of the land. Aquino led a group of people who wanted more fairness and freedom.
In Tepetitán, Anastasio Aquino was declared the commander-in-chief of a "liberation army." This army was formed by people who wanted to free themselves from unfair rules. On that same day, Aquino issued something called the Declaration of Tepetitán. This declaration was a powerful statement of their goals and demands for a better future for everyone. It showed their strong desire for justice and independence.
