About Tristán's Life
Tristán was born in a place called Pergamino in Argentina. When he was young, his father passed away. He started working at just ten years old, first as a baker. He did many different jobs that didn't pay much, like washing dishes, waiting tables, and selling things in stores or door-to-door.
Starting His Comedy Career
Tristán began his journey as a comedian in the late 1950s. His first big step was on a radio show called Farandulandia. He chose the stage name "Tristán" because some of his family members didn't think acting was a good job.
In 1960, he moved to Buenos Aires, a big city in Argentina. There, he became very popular on a TV show called Telecómicos. After that, he started performing in live theater shows and movies.
Tristán's Style of Comedy
Tristán was known for his funny physical comedy, also called slapstick. This means he used his body and funny movements to make people laugh. He was great at doing silly stunts. In the mid-1980s, he even had his own show called Las travesuras de Tristán (which means "Tristán's Mischief").
For over 20 years, Tristán was very popular. But by the late 1980s, physical comedy became less fashionable in Argentina. So, Tristán focused more on acting in plays on stage.
Later Career and Awards
In 2015, Tristán had a big comeback! He played a bad guy, "El coronel," in a TV drama series called Historia de un clan. This role was a huge success and earned him a special award called the Martín Fierro Award for best supporting actor.
His Final Years
In December 2019, Tristán had a fall and broke his hip. He never fully recovered from this injury. He passed away on March 25, 2023, at the age of 86, due to a lung infection called bilateral pneumonia.
