Valérie Lemercier (born March 9, 1964) is a talented French actress, director, writer for movies, and singer. She is well-known for her funny roles and for directing her own films.

Life and Career Highlights
Valérie Lemercier was born in Dieppe, Seine-Maritime, France. Her parents were farmers. She grew up in a place called Gonzeville. Later, she studied dance, music, and drama at the Rouen Conservatoire, which is a special school for arts.
Valérie started her acting career in 1988. Her first appearance on screen was in a TV series called Palace. She has won two César Awards. These awards are like the French "Oscars." She won for her supporting roles in the movies Les Visiteurs (1993) and Fauteuils d'orchestre (2007).
She also hosted the César Awards ceremony twice, in 2006 and 2007. After becoming a successful actress, Valérie also became a very good director. This means she started making her own movies.
In 1996, Valérie Lemercier released her first music album, which was called Valérie Lemercier chante. Since then, she has recorded three songs with other singers.
