Voss is a popular brand of bottled water that comes from Norway. It is known for its unique cylindrical glass bottle. This water is bottled in a village called Vatnestrøm, which is in the Iveland area of southern Norway.
Many people think the water comes from the town of Voss, but that's not true! The bottling site is actually more than 400 kilometers away from the town of Voss. You can find Voss water in two main types: still (flat) water and sparkling (bubbly) water.
The special bottle design for Voss water was created by Neil Kraft. In some countries, like the U.S. and the U.K., Voss still water is also sold in plastic bottles. These plastic bottles still have the same cool cylindrical shape.

About the Voss Water Company
How Voss Water Started
Voss water is bottled by a company called Voss of Norway AS. This company is based in New York City, USA. Voss water is sold in over 50 countries around the world. It is especially popular in the United States.
The company says that its process for making and bottling water is completely carbon neutral. This means they try to balance the amount of carbon dioxide they release into the air with actions that remove carbon dioxide. Their goal is to have no net impact on the environment from their operations.
What Makes Voss Water Special?
Voss water has received some attention over the years. In 2007, Women's Health magazine gave Voss water a high rating. They ranked it as the number one bottled water among several brands they tested.
However, not everyone agreed. In Finland, a TV company called Yle did a blind taste test. Three wine experts tasted six different waters, including Voss and regular tap water from Helsinki. In this test, the experts rated Voss water as the lowest of the six waters.
Who Owns Voss Water?
In 2016, a company from Thailand and China called Reignwood Group bought most of Voss. This means they now have control over the company. The current chairwoman of Voss is Lisa Wang. John D. Shulman is the vice chairman.
