These included Vito Acconci, Laurie Anderson, Gordon Matta-Clark, and Lawrence Weiner.

About Àngels Ribé

Àngels Ribé was born in Barcelona in 1943. She moved to Paris in 1966. There, she started making art that used space and the human body. She created sculptures and art installations. Later, she also did "actions" and "performances." These were live art pieces.

In 1972, Ribé moved to the United States. She lived and worked in Chicago for a few months. Then, she settled in New York City. She returned to Barcelona in 1980.

Her Art and Work

Àngels Ribé's art is part of a movement called "conceptual art." This type of art became popular in the late 1960s and 1970s. Artists like Ribé used unusual materials at first. But over time, she started to focus on things that are not physical. She explored ideas like light, shadow, and how our bodies fit into a space.

Her artworks are kept in important collections in Catalonia. You can see them at the Vila Casas Foundation. They are also at the MACBA. In 2011, MACBA held a special show about her art. It featured her work from 1969 to 1984.
