Ángel Ballesteros Gallardo was born in Gálvez, Toledo. He studied Philosophy and Languages. He began his research work in Barcelona. In 1973, he moved to Talavera de la Reina, Spain. There, he started important historical research.

His main focus was the ancient festival called "Mondas". This Spring parade began around 2200 BC. It started in the Celt Iberian period in that area. He also studied other parts of the city's past. Ballesteros wrote for the La Voz del Tajo newspaper.

In 1983, he received an honor. He was named a 'Numerary advisor' for the Provincial Institute of Toledian Studies and Investigation. This means he was an important expert for the institute.

Ángel Ballesteros also founded a group called the Data Seminary of Historic Study of Talavera de la Reina and its Lands. He also led the "P. Juan de Mariana" Historic Institute. He is also a university teacher at the UNED University.

He has been named a "favourite son" of the city of Talavera de la Reina. This is a special honor given by the city.
