Óscar Esteban Granados Maroto (born 25 October 1985) is a former Costa Rican footballer. He played as a defensive midfielder, which means he helped protect his team's goal.
Playing for Clubs
Esteban Granados started his football journey at Cartaginés, a local team. He played there for seven years, from 2004 to 2011.
In June 2011, he moved to a new team called Orión. However, he only stayed with them for six months. After that, he joined Herediano in 2012. He played for Herediano for a long time, until 2022.
Playing for Costa Rica
Granados also played for the Costa Rica national team. His first game for Costa Rica was in January 2009 against Panama.
He played in important tournaments like the 2009 UNCAF Nations Cup and the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup. He also helped his country try to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Esteban Granados was part of the Costa Rican team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. During a game against Greece, he received a yellow card while he was on the substitutes' bench.

Esteban Granados comes from a place called Quircot de Cartago in Costa Rica. His parents are Elí Granados and Martiza Maroto. He is married to Fiorella Alvarado. His older brother, Michael, also played professional football for a team in the second division called Municipal Osa.
