About the 1411 Fourth Avenue Building

This tall building stands 15 stories high, with a basement below ground. It was designed in a cool style called Art Deco. This style was popular in the 1920s and 1930s. It often uses geometric shapes and fancy decorations. The building is a well-known landmark in downtown Seattle.

Building History

This amazing building was constructed in 1928. It was built for the Stimson Realty Company. The Metropolitan Building Company helped manage the project. The construction cost about $1.1 million, which was a lot of money back then! A company called Teufel & Carlson were the main builders.

The famous architect Robert C. Reamer designed the building. He was known for creating many beautiful buildings. What's really impressive is that the building was finished in just seven months in 1928. This was a record for a building of its size at the time!

Past Businesses

For many years, different businesses have called this building home. From 1997 to 2012, a popular coffee shop called Tully's Coffee had its main store on the ground floor. It was right on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Union Street. Sadly, that store closed when Tully's Coffee had some financial problems.

Recent Ownership

In 2016, the building was sold to a company called the Onni Group. They bought it for $29.6 million. This shows how valuable and important this historic building still is today.
