The 2004 Formula One season was a super exciting year for car racing! It was the 55th time this big championship happened. Formula One, often called F1, is the highest class of international racing for open-wheel single-seater formula racing cars. It's like the Olympics of car racing! Drivers compete in super-fast cars on special tracks around the world. Each race is called a Grand Prix.

The 2004 Formula One season was a year of incredible speed and skill. It featured 18 thrilling races, starting in Australia and ending in Brazil. Fans watched as drivers pushed their cars to the limit, reaching speeds of over 300 kilometers per hour (about 186 miles per hour)!
Michael Schumacher's Amazing Year
Michael Schumacher, a legendary German driver, had one of his best seasons ever in 2004. He drove for the famous Ferrari team. Michael won 13 out of the 18 races, which is a huge achievement! He won the first five races in a row, setting a new record. This incredible performance helped him secure his seventh and final World Drivers' Championship title. He was truly unstoppable that year.
Ferrari's Dominance
Ferrari, the famous Italian racing team, built an amazing car for the 2004 season. This car, the F2004, was incredibly fast and reliable. With Michael Schumacher driving one car and Rubens Barrichello driving the other, Ferrari was almost unbeatable. They won the Constructors' Championship by a massive lead, showing they had the best car and team working together.

BAR-Honda's Strong Performance
The BAR-Honda team, with driver Jenson Button, had a fantastic year. This helped BAR-Honda finish second in the Constructors' Championship, which was their best result ever.
Renault and Williams-BMW
Renault, with drivers Jarno Trulli and Fernando Alonso, also had a strong season, finishing third in the Constructors' Championship. Williams-BMW, with drivers Juan Pablo Montoya and Ralf Schumacher, finished fourth. These teams provided exciting competition throughout the year, even if they couldn't quite catch Ferrari.
New Races and Tracks
The 2004 season also saw Formula One visit some new and exciting places.
Bahrain Grand Prix
For the first time ever, Formula One raced in the Middle East at the new Bahrain International Circuit. This was a big moment for the sport, bringing the excitement of F1 to a new region.
Chinese Grand Prix

Later in the season, Formula One also held its first ever race in China, at the brand new Shanghai International Circuit. These new tracks were modern and challenging, adding to the thrill of the championship.
