The company was started by a person named Antoine Zerega. He began making pasta in Brooklyn, New York in the year 1848. This makes Zerega's Sons the very first pasta company in America.
Antoine's son, Frank Zerega, worked as a pasta maker for an amazing 83 years! He also became the company's president.
