Joseph "Joey" Murray was from New Zealand. Livio Salvi came from Italy. Sarah Egglestone was from Australia. Tracey Packham was from the United Kingdom. The group was active for five years, from 1998 to 2003.
Their Big Hit Song
A Touch of Class became very famous in 2000. This was after they released their first song. It was called "Around The World (La La La La La)". This song was an English version of "Pesenka". The original song was by a group called Ruki Vverh!.
"Around The World" was first released on May 9, 2000. It quickly became a huge success. The song reached #1 in Germany. It stayed at the top for six weeks. Later, it became a Top 40 hit in the United Kingdom. It also did well in the United States. In early 2002, the song was used in a television commercial for General Electric. While other similar songs were popular in Europe, A Touch of Class is mostly remembered for this first big hit.
Albums and Breaking Up
Their first album was named Planet Pop. It came out on February 6, 2001. Sony BMG Music Entertainment and Republic Records released it.
The group then released a second album. It was called Touch The Sky. However, this album was not as successful as their first. A Touch of Class broke up in the middle of 2003.
