Abduction! is an exciting mystery novel written by Peg Kehret. It's about a brave 13-year-old girl named Bonnie. She goes on a thrilling search for her younger brother, Matt, and their dog, Pookie, after they suddenly disappear. At first, the person who took them is a mystery. But Bonnie soon discovers it's someone much closer to their family.
The Mystery of Matt's Disappearance
Matt, who is six years old, is taken by his father, Denny. Matt had never met Denny before this happened. Matt had always dreamed of meeting his dad. However, this meeting was not at all what he expected. Denny had his own reasons for taking Matt, which weren't good ones.
Denny also took Matt's dog, Pookie. He later left Pookie alone in a park. With only a few clues, Matt's mother, Bonnie, and the police worked hard to find him. Luckily, some kind older people found Pookie. They soon returned the dog to Matt's mom and Bonnie.
Bonnie's Brave Search and Escape
Bonnie is determined to find her brother. She spots Matt at a Mariner's baseball game. But Denny sees Bonnie too, and she is also taken. Now, both Bonnie and Matt are being held by Denny. The siblings quickly start planning their escape.
They get a chance while on a ferry boat. Bonnie secretly tells Matt to throw his hardest baseball pitch. Matt throws the ball, and it hits Denny. This gives Bonnie and Matt the perfect chance to get away. Denny is then arrested by the police. Finally, the children are able to return home safely.
