Achille Beltrame (born March 18, 1871, in Arzignano – died February 19, 1945, in Milan) was an Italian painter and illustrator. He became famous for his many detailed drawings that appeared in newspapers.

Achille Beltrame's Life and Art

Achille Beltrame began his art studies in Vicenza, a city in Italy. Later, he joined the Brera Academy, a well-known art school in Milan. This is where he learned many important painting and drawing skills.

Becoming a Famous Illustrator

In 1899, Achille Beltrame started an important job. He became an illustrator for a major Italian newspaper called Corriere della Sera. He also created the pictures for their weekly magazine, La Domenica del Corriere.

He worked on these illustrations for almost 50 years! This means he drew pictures for nearly half a century. His drawings helped people understand the news and stories better. After he retired, another talented artist named Walter Molino took over his role.

Art Exhibitions

Even though he was famous for his newspaper drawings, Achille Beltrame was also a painter. He had his very first solo art show in 1941. This exhibition took place at the Ranzini Gallery in Milan. It was a chance for people to see his paintings up close.

Achille Beltrame's work helped shape how people saw news and stories in Italy for many years. His illustrations are still remembered today.
