Adam Cianciarulo, born on October 20, 1996, is an American professional motocross and supercross racer who retired in 2024. He competed in the exciting AMA Motocross Championships for over a decade. Adam is famous for winning the 2019 AMA Motocross 250cc Championship.

Adam's Early Racing Days
Adam Cianciarulo started riding motorcycles when he was just three years old. By the time he was four, he was already racing! He quickly became a top young rider. In 2012, he set a record at the AMA Amateur Motocross National Championships. He won an amazing 11 amateur championships during his youth career.
Adam's Pro Racing Career
Starting Out in 2013
Adam began his professional career in 2013 with the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team. He had signed a long-term deal with them even before turning pro. He missed the first few races because he was sick. But when he started, he finished in the top 10 five times. He even got on the podium once in Utah.
Challenges in 2014 and 2015
In 2014, Adam raced in his first 250 Monster Energy Supercross series. He won three of the first five races, including his very first supercross race! However, he got a shoulder injury in Canada. This injury needed surgery, and he had to miss the rest of the 2014 season.
The year 2015 also brought tough luck. Adam missed all the Supercross races due to another shoulder injury. He also missed many Motocross races that year. He did manage to get on the podium once before his injury.
A Fresh Start in 2016
In 2016, Adam tried a new training program. Unfortunately, he broke his wrist early in the year. This meant he missed the entire Monster Energy Supercross series again. But he recovered in time for the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series. He finally completed a full season! He finished in the top 10 six times and got on a moto podium once.
Breakthrough Year in 2017
The year 2017 was a big one for Adam. He showed everyone he still had incredible speed. For the first time in his career, he raced both the full Supercross and Motocross seasons. In Supercross, he won two races: one in Daytona and the final race in Las Vegas. In Pro Motocross, Adam earned his first overall win at Budds Creek.
Injuries and Success in 2018
Adam had another strong Supercross season in 2018. He finished on the podium seven times and won the final race in Las Vegas. After this, he announced he would miss the entire Motocross season. He needed surgery for knee injuries (torn ACL and MCL) that he had suffered in 2017.
Championship Win in 2019
In 2019, Adam won his seventh career Supercross race in Glendale. He came very close to winning the 250sx West championship. He had six podium finishes and five wins. But a crash in the final race meant he finished second overall.
However, Adam then went on to win his first professional championship! He won the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series with 519 total points. After this big win, he moved up to the 450 class with Team Monster Energy Kawasaki. He also changed his racing number from 92 to 9.
Adam also won the 2019 Monster Energy Cup. This was his first professional race in the 450 class. He finished second in the first two races and first in the final race to win the overall title.
2020 Season and Beyond
In 2020, Adam broke his collarbone during a qualifying round. He had surgery and returned to racing when he was healthy. He continued to compete until his retirement in 2024.
