Adam Wójcik (born April 20, 1970 – died August 26, 2017) was a famous Polish professional basketball player. Many people think he was one of the greatest basketball players ever from Poland. He holds the record for the second-highest scorer in the history of the Polish Basketball League, with an amazing 10,087 points!

Adam Wójcik's Basketball Journey
Adam Wójcik played for many different basketball clubs during his career. He played in his home country, Poland, and also in other countries like Belgium, Greece, Italy, and Spain. He played a huge number of games in the Polish Basketball League, 651 games in total! This makes him second all-time for games played in the league.
Top Awards and Championships
Adam Wójcik won many important awards. He was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Polish League three times. This means he was considered the best player in the league in 1998, 2001, and 2005. He also won the MVP award for the league finals in those same years.
He helped his teams win the Polish League championship an incredible eight times! He also won the Polish Cup twice and was a champion in the Belgian League in 1997.
Playing in Europe's Top League
In 2001, Adam Wójcik started playing in the EuroLeague. This is one of the highest levels of basketball in Europe. He played in this competition for six seasons in a row. In his first EuroLeague season (2001–02), he was the eighth-best scorer, averaging 18.4 points per game!
He played for teams like Peristeri from Greece, Unicaja Malaga from Spain, and Śląsk Wrocław from Poland. He spent three seasons with Prokom Trefl Sopot and helped them reach the EuroLeague Top 16 stage twice. He scored a total of 1,030 points in 95 EuroLeague games. After that, he played one season in the EuroCup, which is another big European competition, with Turów Zgorzelec. Adam Wójcik retired from playing basketball in 2012.
Playing for Poland
Adam Wójcik was also a very important player for the Polish national basketball team. He played in 149 games for his country, which is the second-highest number of games played for Poland. He scored 1,821 points for the national team. He also played in four major European championships called EuroBasket's in 1991, 1997, 2007, and 2009.
His Passing
Sadly, Adam Wójcik passed away on August 26, 2017, when he was 47 years old. He died from leukemia, a type of cancer.
