Adelaide Orsola Appignani (born in 1807 – died 30 September 1884) was a talented Italian woman. She was a singer, a conductor, and a music teacher. She also wrote her own music.
Life of Adelaide Appignani
Adelaide Orsola Appignani was born in the city of Rome, Italy. Her mother, who had lost her husband, later married a violinist named Andrea Aspri. Because of this, Adelaide sometimes used the name Orsola Aspri.
Adelaide loved music and studied it with a famous teacher named Valentino Fioravanti. After finishing her studies, she became very busy. In 1839, she worked as a singer and a conductor in the cities of Florence and Rome.
She was also part of important music groups. She joined the Roman Academie Filarmonica, which was a musical academy located in Pallazio Lancelotti. In 1842, she was given a special honor. She became an honorary member of the Academie de St. Cecelia, another respected music academy.
Adelaide also shared her musical knowledge by teaching others. She taught singing, and one of her students was a well-known male singer named Settimio Malvezzi, who was a tenor (a high male voice).
Later in her life, she married Count Girolamo Cenci-Bolognetti. Adelaide Appignani passed away in Rome on 30 September 1884.
