Agdash is a region, also called a raion, located in the central part of Azerbaijan. This area is home to the Leki settlement and 72 other villages. Agdash raion has a good location for both its economy and its geography.
The city of Agdash is the capital of this region. It was first established in the 16th century.

Where is Agdash?
Agdash is in the middle of Azerbaijan. This makes it a good spot for trade and travel. The region covers about 1,050 square kilometers. In 2007, around 93,100 people lived here.
Nature and Rivers
Two important rivers flow through the Agdash region. These are the Turyan River and the Kura River. The Kura River is one of the longest rivers in the Caucasus region.
Along the banks of the Kura River, you can find special forests called Tugay forests. These forests are home to many different plants and animals. To the north of the region, there is the Turyanchay State Preservation. This is a protected area where nature is kept safe.
A Bit of History
The main city, Agdash, has been around for a long time. It was founded in the 1500s. Over the centuries, it has grown into an important center for the region.
