Aghjabadi is a region, also known as a raion, located in the central part of Azerbaijan. The main town and capital of this region is also called Aghjabadi.

About Aghjabadi
Location and Size
Aghjabadi is found in the middle of Azerbaijan. It covers a total area of about 1,760 square kilometers. This makes it one of the many regions that make up the country.
A Bit of History
The Aghjabadi region was officially created in 1930. For a short time in 1963, it was joined with another nearby region called Agdam Raion. However, just two years later, in 1965, Aghjabadi became a separate region again.
People and Settlements
In 2010, about 122,649 people lived in the Aghjabadi region. The region includes one main town and 46 other smaller places where people live.
