Agustín Tamames Iglesias (born on October 19, 1944) is a famous former Spanish road racing cyclist. He was known for his strong performances in long-distance bike races.
Agustín Tamames achieved his biggest victory in 1975. He won the overall title of the Vuelta a España, which is one of the most important bicycle races in the world. He also won five individual stages during that same race! Throughout his career, Agustín won a total of 11 stages in the Vuelta a España.
He also represented Spain in the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. He competed in the individual road race, showing his talent on a global stage.

Vuelta a España Success
The Vuelta a España is a huge bicycle race that lasts for several weeks. Agustín Tamames was very successful in this race:

- In 1971, he finished seventh overall and won another stage.
- In 1972, he came in third place overall and won two stages.
- In 1974, he won two more stages.
