About Ailís Ní Ríain
Ailís Ní Ríain was born in Cork, Ireland. She is deaf or hard of hearing. She trained in classical music as a composer and a pianist. In 2016, she won the Paul Hamlyn Award for Composers. Her music has been played on BBC Radio 3, RTÉ, and BBC Radio 4. It has also been performed in many countries.
