Aimee Boorman (born Aimee Banghart on March 27, 1973) is a famous American gymnastics coach. She is best known for coaching Simone Biles, who became an Olympic champion in 2016. Aimee Boorman also helped Simone Biles win world championships from 2013 to 2015.
Boorman was the head coach for the USA women's gymnastics team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Since 2021, she has been an assistant coach for the Netherlands' women's gymnastics team. From May 2025, she coached in Stuttgart, Germany, for five months.

Early Life and Gymnastics
Aimee Boorman grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She started taking gymnastics classes when she was six years old. At age 13, she began coaching at a gymnastics club to help earn money.
High School and College
Boorman went to Lane Technical High School. This school had a very good gymnastics program. She was excellent at floor exercises and won a city championship in her first year.
Aimee realized she would not become an Olympic gymnast herself. However, she thought about staying in the sport as a coach. She went to Northern Illinois University and studied business related to sports management. She graduated in 1995.
Coaching Career
Aimee Boorman's first coaching job in Texas was at Cypress Academy of Gymnastics. She then started working at Bannon's Gymnastix in 1996.
Coaching Simone Biles
Boorman began coaching Simone Biles in 2005. At that time, Simone was eight years old. Simone Biles became very famous in 2013. This was after she won the U.S. national championship. She also became the world all-around champion in her first year as a senior gymnast.
Boorman was the head coach at Bannon's, where Biles trained. They both left Bannon's in 2014. They trained temporarily at another gym until Simone Biles' parents opened a new gymnastics center. This new center was called World Champions Centre. Boorman became the team manager and head coach there.
Olympic Head Coach
Aimee Boorman was chosen as the head coach for the United States women's gymnastics team. This was for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. After the Olympics, she left World Champions Centre. She then took a job as an executive director at Evo Athletics in Sarasota, Florida.
Personal Life
Aimee Boorman grew up in Chicago. She now lives in Florida. She married her husband, James, in 2000. They have three children together.
