The Akwesasne Library

The library at the center is very important. It first opened its doors in 1971. This made it the very first Native American Library east of the Mississippi River.

The library has a huge collection of books. There are more than 28,000 books for everyone to enjoy. It also has a special section called the Native Collection. This part of the library holds over 2,400 books. It is one of the biggest collections about Native American culture in Northern New York.

The Akwesasne Museum

The museum at the center is full of amazing objects. It has about 2,000 photographs. These pictures show the history and daily life of the Mohawk people.
