A Look Back at Alamota's History
Alamota was once an important stop for trains. It served as a station and a place where goods were shipped. This happened on a part of the famous Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. This railway was very important for connecting different places across the country.
A post office first opened in Alamota in 1877. It closed for a while in 1894. However, it reopened in 1903. The post office finally closed for good in 1992.
