Alan Aboud (born May 13, 1966) is an Irish graphic designer and creative director. He comes from Dublin, Ireland.
A graphic designer creates visual ideas using images, words, and shapes. A creative director leads a team to develop these ideas for things like advertising or branding.
Alan went to school at Belvedere College in Dublin. Later, he studied at the National College of Art & Design (NCAD) in Dublin. He then moved to London to study at Saint Martin's School of Art, where he finished with top honors in 1989.
Life and Career
After graduating, Alan started a creative company called Aboud Sodano in 1989. He co-founded it with Sandro Sodano, a photographer he met at Saint Martin's.
They worked together on many projects. Alan was great at art direction and typography (designing with text). Sandro was skilled at creating unique images. In 2007, their full-time partnership ended, and the company became Aboud Creative.
For over 20 years, Alan's agency worked with many well-known brands. These included fashion, beauty, and lifestyle companies. Some famous names they worked with are Paul Smith, Levi's, H&M, River Island, and Neal's Yard Remedies.
Alan Aboud created the famous Paul Smith "Multi-stripe" design. This colorful stripe pattern was first used on shirts in 1997. Paul Smith's team noticed Alan's talent when he was still a student in 1989. He started working for Paul Smith on advertising and graphic design while also setting up his own agency. Their work together continued for a long time, until 2015. He still helps with advertising for Paul Smith's special collections.
More recently, Alan changed his agency's name to ABOUD+ABOUD. Now, he also works as a creative consultant for other agencies, like GREY LONDON. He helps them with big brands such as HUGO BOSS fragrances. His agency also designs magazines and fashion advertisements. They have also started directing short fashion films.
Alan Aboud has three children: twins Victor and Milo Keating-Aboud, and a daughter named Georgie Alma Best Aboud.
