Alban Hill became well-known in London for his medical knowledge and skills. Many smart people admired him. He lived for many years in the area of St. Alban, Wood Street, where he was highly respected by everyone in the community.

His Medical Career

John Caius, another important doctor of that time, described Alban Hill as a good and learned man. Hill was also mentioned by Bassianus Landus, an Italian writer, in his book about anatomy. This shows that Hill's work was recognized by others in the medical field.

Alban Hill became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians on March 23, 1552. This college is a group of important doctors. He held several key positions there, serving as a Censor from 1555 to 1558 and becoming an Elect in 1558. These roles meant he helped oversee the standards and practices of other doctors.

Later Life and Legacy

Alban Hill passed away on December 22, 1559. He was buried in St. Alban's Church, Wood Street, next to his friend and fellow doctor, Edward Wotton. Today, only the tower of that church remains. His wife lived until May 31, 1580.
