Becoming Sweden's Executioner

Later in his life, he was hit by a tram. He never fully recovered from this accident. His son took care of him during his final years. Albert Gustaf Dahlman passed away on 30 July 1920. He was buried in Norra begravningsplatsen, a cemetery in Stockholm.

The End of Capital Punishment

The year after Dahlman's death, Sweden made a big change. They stopped using capital punishment for crimes committed during peacetime. This means the death penalty was no longer used for most crimes. In 1973, Sweden completely abolished capital punishment for all crimes, even those committed during wartime.
