Alex C. Jones Jr. was born in 1941. He went to Wayne State University. In 1965, he earned a degree in art education there.

His Work as a Minister

From 1975 to 1982, he was a senior minister. He led the Zion Congregational Church of God in Christ. This was a very old Pentecostal church in Detroit, Michigan. From 1982 to 2000, he led another church. This was the Maranatha Christian Church in Detroit. It was an Evangelical Charismatic church.

His Journey to Catholicism

In 1998, Alex Jones began to explore the Catholic faith. He read a book called Crossing the Tiber. This book was written by Stephen Ray, a Catholic writer. After reading it, Jones started using some Catholic traditions in his church services.

Many church members decided to leave because of this change. But some members stayed. In June 2001, the adults who remained voted. They decided to start the process of becoming Catholic. The vote was 39 to 19.

In September 2001, the remaining members began studying. They went to St. Suzanne Catholic Church. Alex Jones himself became Catholic that year. He also led some of his family members to join the Catholic Church. Not everyone was happy about his conversion. His mother, for example, joined a different church.

The Maranatha Christian Church closed in December 2001. The church building was sold to a Greek Orthodox group. The church members also voted to give Jones a special payment.

Becoming a Deacon and Writing a Book

On October 1, 2005, Jones became a permanent deacon. This happened in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. In 2007, he earned a master's degree. He studied Pastoral Studies at the Sacred Heart Major Seminary.

Alex Jones wrote a book called No Price too High. In this book, he shared his story. He wrote about how he became Catholic. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

His Passing

Alex C. Jones Jr. passed away on January 15, 2017. He died due to problems from a heart attack. He was survived by his wife and three adult sons.
