Early Life and High School Basketball
Alex Tyus started playing basketball in high school. For his first two years, he played at Hazelwood Central High School. This school is in St. Louis, Missouri. After that, he played for two years at Harmony Prep. He helped his team reach the national championship game in 2006.
College Basketball Career
After high school, Alex Tyus went to the University of Florida. He played college basketball for the Florida Gators. He was part of the team from 2007 to 2011. During his time there, the Gators made it to the NCAA Tournament twice.
Key College Moments
In the 2010-2011 season, Alex played a big part. He helped the Gators reach the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. In one important game, he scored 19 points. He also grabbed 17 rebounds. This helped his team win in overtime against the BYU Cougars. By 2012, his 1,333 career points were among the best in his school's history.

First Time with Maccabi Tel Aviv (2013–2015)

On March 28, 2019, he scored a career-high 20 points in a EuroLeague game. Alex helped Maccabi win the 2019 Israeli League Championship too. This was his second championship in a row!
Playing in Russia: UNICS Kazan (2019–2020)
On July 13, 2019, Alex signed with UNICS Kazan. This team plays in the VTB United League in Russia. He averaged 10.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.
Back to Galatasaray (2020)
