The Alexander–Hill House is a very old and special building. It is also known as the Alexander–Cannon–Hill House. This house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it is recognized as an important historical site.
The house is located in High Falls County Park. This park is near Seneca, South Carolina. You can find it off South Carolina Highway 183.

History of the Alexander–Hill House
The Alexander–Hill House was built a long time ago. It was built in 1831. A man named Pleasant Alexander built it.
Original Location
The house was first built on a large farm. This farm was near a town called Old Pickens. Old Pickens was an important town back then.
Moving the House
In 1972, the house was moved. It was carefully taken apart and rebuilt. This was done to save the historic building. It was moved to its current spot in High Falls County Park.
What the House Looks Like
The Alexander–Hill House has two stories. It is made of wood siding called clapboard. Inside, you can see its original features.
Inside the House
The entrance hall has old floors. These floors are made of heart-pine wood. The parlor, which is like a living room, has special wood panels. These panels are called wainscoting. The house also has its original stairway.
Outside Features
The house has two brick chimneys. These chimneys were part of the original house. They were carefully put back together after the house was moved.
The House Today
Today, the Alexander–Hill House is still very active. It is used by High Falls County Park.
Current Use
The house serves as the park's office. It also has a gift shop. Visitors can buy souvenirs there.
