Alfonso Téllez-Girón, 1st Count of Ureña, was an important Spanish nobleman who lived in the 1400s. He was known for being the first person to hold the title of Count of Ureña.

Alfonso Téllez-Girón was born around 1454 in a place called Moral de Calatrava. He was the son of Pedro Girón, 1st Lord of Osuna and Inés de las Casas. Even though he was born outside of marriage, his birth was made official by a special document from the Pope in 1456. King Henry IV of Castile confirmed this in 1459.

In 1464, King Henry IV gave Alfonso the special title of Count of Ureña. This made him a very important person in the kingdom. He married a lady named Blanca de Herrera, but they did not have any children. Alfonso Téllez-Girón passed away in 1469 in El Espinar, Segovia. He died because of problems from a broken foot he got while playing a ball game.
