Ali Naci Karacan (born in 1896, died July 7, 1955) was an important Turkish journalist and publisher. He helped start two well-known Turkish newspapers, Akşam and Milliyet. His family continued his work, building a big publishing company around Milliyet. He was also the president of the famous sports club Fenerbahçe S.K. for a year.

A Life in Newspapers

Ali Naci Karacan was born Ali Naci. Later, he added "Karacan" to his name. He loved writing and news. In 1918, he helped create the daily newspaper Akşam. This newspaper became very popular.

Later, in 1935, he became the editor of a new newspaper called Tan. He worked hard to make it a success. In 1955, he was involved in starting another major newspaper, Milliyet. His family, including his grandson who was also named Ali Naci Karacan, continued his work. They built a large publishing group around Milliyet.

Sports and Legacy

Besides his work in newspapers, Ali Naci Karacan was also interested in sports. He served as the President of the famous Turkish sports club Fenerbahçe S.K. from 1926 to 1927.

Today, a stadium in Gönyeli is named after him. It is called the Ali Naci Karacan Stadı, honoring his memory and contributions.
