Lukas Strobel (born September 28, 1989), known by his stage name Alligatoah, is a German rapper, singer, producer, and DJ. He is signed to the German hip hop record label Trailerpark.

Alligatoah also creates music using two made-up characters: Kaliba 69, who is a rapper, and DJ Deagle, who is a producer. His albums Triebwerke and Musik ist keine Lösung have been very successful, earning "gold" awards. His song "Willst du" was even more popular, reaching "platinum" status.

Alligatoah's Story

Lukas Strobel grew up in Neuenwalde, a small town in Lower Saxony, Germany. When he was in school, he enjoyed making short films. He even won 750 Euros at a film festival for one of his movies! Lukas still enjoys making videos today.

On April 10, 2006, Lukas started his music project called Alligatoah. He created two special characters for it. Kaliba 69 is the rapper, and DJ Deagle is the producer. Lukas said he made these characters because he didn't always want to be alone when making music.

Early Music and Success

In 2006, Alligatoah released his first album, ATTNTAAT. He also put out a mixtape called Schlaftabletten, Rotwein Teil I. Both of these, along with his music film Goldfieber, were available for free download. In 2007, he released another mixtape, Schlaftabletten, Rotwein Teil II.

In March 2008, he signed a deal with a German hip hop label called rappers.in. With this label, he released the album In Gottes Namen. This album was even named the "best demo of the month" by a German hip hop magazine called Juice. Alligatoah also made a special song just for that magazine.

After finishing high school, Lukas moved to Berlin. In 2011, he released the third part of his mixtape series, Schlaftabletten, Rotwein Teil III. Later that year, he left rappers.in and joined the Trailerpark label. Another artist from Trailerpark, Timi Hendrix, suggested Alligatoah join them. From 2011 to 2012, Alligatoah went on a tour in Germany called the PeppNoseDay Tour with other artists.

Big Hits and Awards

In August 2013, Alligatoah released his third album, Triebwerke. This album was a huge success and went straight to number 1 on the German music charts! In 2014, Triebwerke earned a "gold" award for its sales. The song "Willst du" from the album became even more popular, reaching "platinum" status.

In September 2014, a new version of "Willst du" was released. It was remixed by the German DJ Robin Schulz. This remix quickly became popular on the German iTunes charts.

On August 31, 2015, Alligatoah announced his fourth album, Musik ist keine Lösung. It was released on November 27. Just a few days later, on December 3, Lukas won the "1Live Krone 2015" award for the best hip-hop artist! In February 2016, Alligatoah went on his Himmelfahrtskommando tour, playing in 11 German cities and also in Graz and Vienna. On April 5, his album Musik ist keine Lösung also earned a "gold" award.
