They even had control over one of the special seats in Parliament for the town of East Looe. Because of this family connection, Ambrose Bellot was chosen to be a Member of Parliament for East Looe in 1597.

His first marriage was in 1596 to Eleanor Smith. Eleanor was a very wealthy woman. She had been married three times before she married Ambrose. However, Ambrose and Eleanor did not have any children together.

Later, Ambrose married Lucy Stockett. Lucy was a widow, meaning her first husband, a man named Wood, had passed away. Ambrose and Lucy had one daughter together.

His Daughter
